In order to help streamline the process by which schools can submit their auditions for the PPMSHB, we have elected to turn to digital submissions beginning in the 2019-2020 school year! While this may prove to be a little different at first, this will save us all a lot of time and labor in the long run! Please continue on for instructions. If a student is auditioning on multiple instruments, this process must be completed once for each audition submitted. Questions? Please reach out to
STEP 1: Collect Information Collect the following information from all auditioning students: ● First & Last Name (Confirm spelling for the program) ● Instrument ● Parent Name(s) ● Emergency Phone Number In your school folder, there is a digital copy of a form which you may elect to print for students to sign and return as in the past.
STEP 2: Collect Recordings Collect recordings from every student. Before submitting recordings, all excerpts must be combined into ONE .mp3 format file
. If you are unsure how to do this, see the information below about how to do this through the free program called “Audacity”.
Files MUST be named in the following manner: Instrument-School-Student’s Last Name
Example: Soozie Smartypants plays Clarinet at Awesome Middle School. File Name: Clarinet-Awesome-Smartypants.mp3
Files that are not uploaded in this manner will be deleted, and the student will not participate in the honor band!
STEP 3: Upload Recordings Your school folder (shared to you) has separate folders for concert and jazz recordings. Upload accordingly via drag-and-drop or by adding files individually.
STEP 4: Upload Student Info Open the spreadsheet located in your school folder. Fill out all information for EVERY student whose recordings you are submitting. That’s It! You’re All Done!!
